HP Drives Mainstream Adoption of Linux and Open Source

Advancing its position as the leading worldwide proponent and provider of Linux and open source technologies, HP today unveiled new and enhanced solutions, new customers and expanded partner programs at the LinuxWorld Conference and Expo.

HP also opened the first open source utility performance center in Europe, the HPC1, which is designed for prototyping and deploying complex IT solutions that work with HP’s extensive product and service portfolio. Representing an investment of nearly $3 million, the facility, based in France, joins other HP centers that are connected via a worldwide grid to help solve customers’ most challenging IT requirements through Linux and open source technology.

“The demand for Linux and open source technologies is continuing to accelerate and customers are turning to HP for the expertise, increased value and choice we provide,” said Martin Fink, vice president of Linux, HP. “HP will stay at the forefront of designing and delivering the open source solutions customers need – beyond just Linux – and will continue to set the market agenda for the adoption of open source software by businesses, allowing customers to build an Adaptive Enterprise.”
