ClearSky Mobile Media Enables Consumers to Simply Ask Their Phone for a Favorite Ringtone Using the New “Talk2Me” Application

Voice Search Enables Consumers to Quickly Find and Purchase Their Favorite Downloadable Content Right on the Handset

ClearSky Mobile Media, Inc., a leading provider of entertainment content and services for the wireless industry, today announced the availability of a vastly improved way to shop for ringtones and images through a new product called Talk2MeTM. Talk2Me interprets the consumer’s voice to quickly and easily locate content for purchase. With just a few simple clicks, shoppers can listen to a preview of a ringtone or view a thumbnail of an image and then make a purchase.

Talk2Me is a downloadable BREW application that connects to ClearSky’s centralized repository of downloadable ringtone and wallpaper content. Talk2Me uses a patented, speaker-independent voice search technology from partner V-ENABLE to search ClearSky’s content catalogs. When a consumer speaks the name of their favorite artist or says a keyword for an image, Talk2Me lists the best matches on the phone’s screen and allows the consumer to listen to a preview or view a thumbnail of their selection. Then, with two clicks, the content is purchased and downloaded. The time consuming task of scrolling through vast content catalogs on a small screen is completely eliminated. Based on previous deployments, consumers have shown a preference for voice search over text. Over 70% of V-ENABLE’s 25 million searches to date are completed with voice input compared to 30% for text.

The first carrier to launch Talk2Me is Movilnet in Venezuela. For Movilnet specifically and the Latin market in general, Talk2Me’s voice interpretation engine is configured for Spanish. These innovations make Talk2Me the first mobile content speech recognition application on the South American continent.

“Merchandising is the art of making things easy to buy and Talk2Me is all about radically improving the merchandising of mobile content,” says Dean Fresonke, CEO of ClearSky Mobile Media. “Talk2Me completely changes the mobile content buying experience and opens up the world of downloadable content to a much larger audience.”
