SpinVox Makes Mobile Blogging a Reality For Over 200 Million Cellphone Users in North America

Spin-my-Blog Converts Spoken Blog Entries to Text and Instantly Posts to Blog Sites From Any Phone

SpinVox, the world expert in Voice-to-Screen™ messaging for consumer, enterprise and carrier markets, today announced its newest Voice-to-Screen service, Spin-my-Blog™, in North America. Spin-my-Blog is a mobile blogging service that allows bloggers to instantly post spoken blog entries from anywhere. By simply using any phone to call a designated Spin-my-Blog phone number, bloggers are automatically connected to their blogs and their spoken entries are converted to text and automatically posted on their blog sites live.

Spin-my-Blog is a groundbreaking development for Web 2.0 – largely characterized by the power it gives users to generate and share their own content throughout the Web. With Spin-my-Blog, voice enters the blogosphere for the first time and removes the tether of Internet or PC access in order to interact with online communities and news groups.

For businesses, Spin-my-Blog enables new and faster ways for organizations to share ideas with their key audiences. For example, media organizations can enable audiences to interact them from any phone, resulting in real-time, universal citizen journalism. SpinVox is a natural interface between online and mobile worlds, giving true mobility to Web 2.0 communities. As a result, Spin-my-Blog allows people to share moments, ideas or experiences in a shot.

Christina Domecq, CEO of SpinVox, commented, “Spin-my-Blog is our latest innovation in the Voice-to-Screen messaging category. Much more than just posting photos or texting blog entries, Spin-my-Blog takes ‘moblogging’ to a whole new level, enabling people to share laughter and life shots from their mobile phones. They can stay in touch with family and friends in the broader online community even when they’re mobile.”

Spin-my-Blog is currently in carrier trials and is available as a free trial for consumers at www.spinvox.com/blog. With SpinVox, carriers can serve the in-demand community markets, building on their strong mobile service brands through voice. Available from any mobile handset and network, Spin-my-Blog makes mobile blogging easy. No upgrades or downloads are needed. A select number of accounts are also being made available to bloggers reporting from the CTIA Wireless show floor in Orlando.

SpinVox announced its first U.S. carrier agreement with Cincinnati Bell on Feb. 28 and separately announced its first Canadian carrier agreement with SaskTel at the CTIA Wireless on March 27. SpinVox has also established deals with Skype worldwide to create innovative next-generation voice-messaging services.

About SpinVox

SpinVox brought together the two most popular methods of communication – voice and text – and created a new category of messaging called Voice-to-Screen. Its award-winning services are now driving new recurring revenues for mobile and fixed-line operators.

At the heart of SpinVox is its patented Voice Message Conversion SystemTM (VMCS), which underpins the company’s retail, enterprise, service provider and global carrier products. VMCS is hosted on an enterprise-class hardware and telephony services infrastructure to meet the rigorous demands of global carriers.

Having invested over four years researching, developing and deploying a world-class, ISO-certified, carrier-grade service platform, VMCS is capable of integrating directly with any carrier’s voice messaging platform, enabling carriers to offer highly innovative Voice-to-Screen messaging products to all of their subscribers.

SpinVox created the world’s first Voicemail-to-Text service in 2003 and launched it in 2005 through partnerships with major UK retailers such as The Carphone Warehouse, The Link, Caudwell Group/4uBusiness and Hutchinson 3G. Today, SpinVox is available in four major languages: International English, Spanish, French and German with further languages in development. SpinVox is headquartered in the UK with offices in nine countries, including North America and is privately backed by private equity and international finance giants with funds in excess of US$60 million.
