Pump Audio and SNOCAP Join Forces to Expand New Distribution Models for Independent Music

Independent artists gain access to more options for selling directly to fans and for licensing music in commercial productions

Pump Audio, the leading provider of quality independent music to content creators globally, and SNOCAP, the premier music technology company for direct artist- to-fan online distribution, today announced a collaboration to expand the opportunities for their artists through commercial licensing and the sale of independent music through the Internet.

Under the deal, SNOCAP is providing artists who register with SNOCAP, the direct opportunity to join Pump Audio and license their music for use in TV, advertising and Internet productions. Pump Audio is offering its independent musicians the opportunity to join SNOCAP and sell their music directly to fans.

“Pump Audio and SNOCAP share a common vision for promoting real opportunities for independent artists and giving musicians a fair deal for the use and sale of their work,” said Steve Ellis, founder and CEO, Pump Audio. “By working together, we’re giving independent artists the best of both worlds. They can sell their music directly to fans on the Internet using SNOCAP, while tapping into the growing demand from content creators for music that can be legally used in productions on TV and the Web.”

SNOCAP’s proprietary technology powers the digital landscape for artists on MySpace, imeem, and Reverb Nation and across the Internet. Pump Audio supplies music to hundreds of TV shows every year around the world for clients such as MTV, NBC, Comedy Central, The Discovery Channel, CBS and the BBC. Pump Audio artists will be able to use SNOCAP’s MyStores service, where they can set their own pricing, sell the songs directly from their MySpace page and any other website or blog that accepts html, and via SNOCAP’s online retailers anywhere, anytime.

As part of its services Pump provides its independent artists with online profile pages where musicians can share more details about themselves with any music fan or consumer, including Pump Audio’s major media production clients. It will integrate the SNOCAP MyStores on the Pump Audio profile pages for artists who join SNOCAP, giving them a way to sell their music directly to any of Pump Audio’s users.

“We’re pleased to be working with Pump Audio to not only enable their artists to easily sell their music but also to give all musicians using SNOCAP access to many commercial licensing opportunities that they wouldn’t have otherwise,” said Rusty Rueff, CEO of SNOCAP. “Pump Audio has successfully promoted the use of independent music in TV, advertising and online creations. Their artist first philosophy is totally in sync with our own approach to maximizing the Web’s potential for artists.”

Under Pump Audio’s artist friendly system, licensing revenues generated from the placement of music in TV shows, advertising and Web productions are split with the musicians, and the artists retain complete ownership over their music. Pump Audio has placed the music of thousands of independent musicians in TV, advertising and Web productions worldwide.
