NTT America Receives Federal GSA Contract for IPv6 Services

NTT America, a wholly-owned U.S. subsidiary of NTT Communications Corporation, today announced that it has been awarded a GSA Schedule contract by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) for offering of its IPv6 products. NTT America is the only company on the GSA Schedule 70 offering IPv6 commercial off the shelf (COTS) transit services.

The contract enables the U.S. government, including the military and any affiliated branch of government including state and local governments, to easily procure NTT America’s IPv6 transit products. In addition to its IPv6 transit services, NTT America offers several IPv6-related products, including transition consulting services, Internet access, Ethernet access, managed firewalls and managed CPE support.

“Last year, we launched our IPv6 Transition Consultancy to counsel enterprises and federal agencies making the transition to IPv6,” said Stan Barber, Global IP Network, NTT America. “With the federal government’s mandated IPv6 network upgrade fast approaching next year, the need for innovative transition support is imminent. We have dedicated significant time and resources to this initiative to ensure our current and prospective customers meet this time-sensitive network transition.”

“We are honored that the GSA named NTT America’s IPv6 transit products to implement its schedule,” said Tetsuro Yamaguchi, President and CEO of NTT America. “We will support federal customers’ smooth transition to the upgraded network with the strength of NTT America’s products and depth of knowledge accumulated through NTT Communications’ successful commercial implementation of IPv6 technology to date.”

NTT Communications has been the global leader in commercial IPv6 managed services solutions with the company’s launch of IPv6 transit services in 2001 and the first IPv6 managed firewall solution in 2005. No other provider has a longer history in providing commercial IPv6 than NTT Communications.
