Huawei Launches the World’s First 65nm CDMA 1xEV-DO Data Card, EC360

As the world’s largest wireless communications event “CTIA WIRELESS 2007″ kicks off today in Orlando, Fla., Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. (”Huawei”), a leader in providing next generation networks for telecommunications operators around the world, launches the world’s first 65nm CDMA 1xEV-DO data card, EC360. Huawei EC360 is a CDMA 1xEV-DO Rev. A data card developed by Huawei especially for the North American market. This data card supports fast packet data services with a maximum downlink transmission rate of 3.1M and uplink transmission rate of 1.8M. The chip technology used in the EC360 is manufactured using a 65-nanometer process, which allows for less power consumption and simpler maintenance requirements.

With Huawei EC360, end users will enjoy an enhanced web surfing experience by being able to download large-capacity files, browse web pages at high speeds, send large e-mails and hold video conference meetings, which in turn will help carriers expand their markets to reach more potential users. At CTIA, Huawei also will exhibit other terminal products, including 3G mobile phones and HSUPA data cards that underscore Huawei’s commitment to the global market.

“Huawei has always focused on customer needs,” said Carl Liu, Executive Vice President of Sales for Huawei. “With our customized services, reliable products and quick response to customer needs, Huawei continues to meet and exceed carriers’ demands to help them increase their average revenue per user.” Huawei’s data cards are currently used by mainstream carriers in Europe and the Asia Pacific region, and the company has been working with a number of global top-tier carriers, such as Vodafone, Hutchinson and Telefonica. In 2006, the global shipment volume of Huawei’s data cards exceeded 1.5 million. Huawei’s data cards can fully support data service applications for both carriers and consumers.
