AT&T blue room Gaming Site to Offer Exclusive 14-Day World of Warcraft Downloadable Trial Edition
AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) today announced AT&T has teamed up with Blizzard Entertainment® to offer for a limited time a free 14-day direct-download trial of World of Warcraft® at the AT&T blue room gaming site (www.attblueroom.com/gaming) — the longest World of Warcraft trial available online. World of Warcraft is the world’s most popular massively multiplayer online role-playing game, with more than 8.5 million subscribers. In the game, players assume the roles of legendary heroes as they develop friendships, forge alliances, and compete for power and glory.
AT&T blue room gaming provides gaming enthusiasts with access to exclusive content related to both upcoming releases and retro favorites, including interviews with gaming insiders; reviews and expert commentary; tips, tricks and codes; and downloads. “World of Warcraft’s following is phenomenal. Its universal appeal extends to both experienced players and those brand new to gaming, so we’re thrilled to offer an extended online trial edition,” said Glenn Broderick, executive director of gaming, AT&T. “As the nation’s largest DSL broadband provider, gamers are important to our business, and this trial equips us to provide them with top-rate content that complements our services.”
“We’re pleased to be pairing with AT&T on this promotion, as it enables us to expose World of Warcraft to an even wider audience of online gamers,” stated Paul Sams, COO of Blizzard Entertainment. “It’s important for us to work with companies that value the gaming community, and AT&T has clearly demonstrated its commitment to that audience with its blue room gaming site.”
Gamers with an instantly available, dedicated broadband line have an advantage over their competitors with slower connections. With more than 12 million high speed Internet lines—including DSL, AT&T U-verseSM and satellite services — AT&T is the nation’s largest broadband provider. AT&T offers ‘the fastest Internet in town for the price’ in the company’s legacy 13-state territory, compared to major providers.
AT&T blue room gaming is part of the AT&T blue room (www.attblueroom.com), which brings together gaming enthusiasts, music fans, tailgaters and the Hollywood-minded through a single online portal housing AT&T’s exclusive sports, music, gaming and entertainment content. Launched in October 2006, the new AT&T blue room gives fans access to live performances, candid interviews, celebrity-athletes, and unedited commentary on everything from music to politics to celebrities as part of a strategic initiative to link the AT&T brand to premier communications and entertainment experiences.
