McAfee, Inc. Receives Accolades From Redmond Magazine Readers
McAfee, Inc. (NYSE: MFE) today announced that McAfee® AntiSpyware Enterprise received top honors in Redmond Magazine’s 2007 Readers’ Choice Awards. McAfee AntiSpyware Enterprise won in the antispyware category, and McAfee GroupShield® placed second in the antivirus category.
“Stopping malware of all types is critical to our customers,” stated Vimal Solanki, senior director of product marketing. “Our award-winning antispyware technology is available as a standalone solution or integrated with McAfee VirusScan® Enterprise to provide maximum malware protection. McAfee AntiSpyware Enterprise is also a component of McAfee’s Total Protection solutions. These products help make up the foundation of McAfee’s Security Risk Management strategy. This approach enables customers to manage both threat protection and compliance management to mitigate and manage their IT risk.”
McAfee AntiSpyware protects individuals from all types of potentially unwanted programs (PUPs) using a unique on-access scanning technology, whereas most antispyware software deals with spyware after-the-fact. AntiSpyware Enterprise uses both behavioral-based methods and daily signature updates to find and block known and unknown spyware. The PUP database is maintained by McAfee Avert® Labs, the world’s leading threat research center.
McAfee GroupShield for Microsoft Exchange provides comprehensive content security for Microsoft Exchange servers. The solution scans emails, databases, and documents for viruses and inappropriate content to keep documents and email messages safe as they enter and leave a company’s Microsoft Exchange Servers.
