St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center Implements IBM Storage Solution to Help Transform Patient Care
IBM today announced that St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center has deployed IBM technology to help improve patient care while reaping significant cost savings and increased performance and utilization rates through its storage, server and software system. The IBM solution is helping to support access to more than two terabytes of critical patient data, and has improved storage capacity by more than five times its original technology solution, all designed to help deliver both information and capacity on demand.
St. Joseph’s Hospital Health Center, a leading hospital network based in Syracuse, New York, undertook a historic transformation of its IT investments by building a storage infrastructure that could support its move to digitize x-rays and patient records. By removing its antiquated EMC hardware, consolidating its storage and servers and building out disaster recovery capabilities, the hospital is embarking on one of its greatest technology transformations.
“Our patients are our number one priority, but the technology infrastructure we had in place could not support the growing technology needs of the hospital to deliver to our staff digitized x-rays and critical patient data instantaneously,” said Chris Ryan, Manager of Information Technology, St. Joseph’s. “Our new IBM solution we have in place now far exceeds what we previously owned. We now have the ability to add capacity on demand and our staff can access patient records and digital x-rays nearly instantaneously, helping to vastly improve patient care.”
