Verizon Business Managed Hosting Centers Achieve Information Security Management Certification
Verizon Business’ managed hosting centers have been certified by a leading authority as compliant with ISO/IEC 27001:2005 standards for information security management controls and processes, the company announced Wednesday (April 11). Two facilities in the United States and one in London – also called Smart Centers – successfully completed the ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certification awarded by BSI Management Systems.
ISO/IEC 27001:2005 is an internationally recognized information security management system (ISMS) standard developed by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). “This certification demonstrates Verizon Business’ continued dedication to providing highly secure managed hosting environments,” said Nancy Gofus, senior vice president and chief marketing officer, Verizon Business. “This achievement further underscores the Verizon Business commitment to world-class standards for safeguarding enterprise customers and their businesses.”
The ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certification includes on-site assessments and encompasses security policies, organizational security, asset classification and control, personnel security, physical and environmental security, systems and network security, access controls, systems development and maintenance, business continuity management, and compliance.
“By earning ISO/IEC 27001:2005 certification, Verizon Business is further demonstrating its commitment to information security,” said Gary Pearsons, president of BSI Management Systems. “By formalizing documentation and using ISO/IEC 27001:2005 as an extra set of eyes, Verizon Business remains at the cutting edge of its industry.”
