2nd Annual SaaScon Event Kicks Off Next Week In Santa Clara
2007 conference moves beyond educating the market to focus on implementation of Software as a Service technology
IDG World Expo, the leading producer of world-class tradeshows and events, in partnership with IDG’s Computerworld, “The Voice of IT Management” and premier media sponsor for the event, today provided a preview of SaaSconTM, the premier business to business event for the software as a service (SaaS) industry. Now that the marketplace has been educated about the benefits of SaaS, the 2007 conference will focus heavily on how to effectively implement a SaaS solution and “Move Business Online.” SaaScon takes place next week, April 17-18, 2007 at the Santa Clara Convention Center in Santa Clara, CA.
SaaScon is considered the gathering place for all participants in the SaaS community and the only place that provides practical case studies and real-world SaaS deployments presented by the small-to-medium sized businesses and enterprise users who implemented them. Attendees will discover how to accomplish and implement SaaS objectives now, while getting a glimpse of the future. The event will cover application focus areas like CRM, HR, ERP, Billing, Collaboration and Business Intelligence, while navigating the larger issues including measuring SaaS success, what applications should go to SaaS, overcoming customization and integration hurdles, which vendors will succeed at SaaS, and more.
“We came off of a great inaugural event in September of last year and we’ve continued to ride that momentum with a packed exhibit floor and setting a record pace for pre-show attendee registrations,” said Eric Norlin, conference chair, SaaScon. “We’re thrilled with the reaction from the industry and looking forward to another banner event.”
Keynote
SaaScon will commence with an opening keynote from Jim Steele, President, Worldwide Sales and Distribution, Salesforce.com, entitled “The Future Of On-Demand,” at 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 17th. During his keynote, Jim will present an overview of the Salesforce on-demand business services mode and explain the future of on-demand business services, including the 10 facets of on-demand platforms and the value and benefit of each. He will also demonstrate how on-demand is ideal for many industries because it enables organizations to deliver service from anywhere – at a lower cost, lower risk and faster deployment time than is possible with on-premise solutions.
SaaScon will also feature several panels led by industry luminaries including Dave Duffield, Jeff Kaplan, Paul Johnston, Bill McNee, Phil Wainewright and Amy Wohl. Discussions will address a broad range of industry topics and feature panelists from companies including Akamai, Bluewolf, Entellium, Jamcracker , NetSuite Inc., OpSource Inc., Procullux Ventures, RightNow Technologies, Saugatuck Technology Inc. and Workday.
