Adobe Announces Flash Media Solution Provider Program

Adobe Systems Incorporated (Nasdaq:ADBE) today announced the Adobe® Flash Media Solution Provider (FMSP) program. The new program is a consortium of professional streaming solution providers and publishers that offer consulting and implementation services for the Adobe Flash® Media Server. Aimed at customers who need to deliver live and on-demand streaming media applications, inaugural members of the FMSP program include: The FeedRoom; Multicast Media Technologies; Jalipo; Onstream Media; and stimTV. These industry-leading solution providers specialize in enabling organizations to broadcast live Flash streaming for sporting events, concerts, webcasts, educational and promotional events.

FMSP partner services include on-site set up, encoding, hosting, reporting, and promotion. Now organizations can leverage professional service providers who specialize in delivering live and on-demand Flash streaming solutions to expedite critical streaming projects. “The market for live and on-demand streaming applications continues to grow as companies realize the power and efficiency of using the Internet and Flash to deliver high-impact communications through video,” said Jim Guerard, vice president and general manager, Dynamic Media at Adobe. “The new FMSP program enables organization to deliver innovative streaming solutions via the Flash player to large audiences even if they don’t have Flash expertise in-house.”

The FMSP program members will leverage Flash Media Server 2.0 and the Flash Video Streaming Service to provide flexible live and on-demand streaming experiences to their customers. Flash Media Server 2.0 offers traditional streaming media capabilities and a flexible development environment for creating and delivering innovative, interactive media applications to a broad audience. The Flash Video Streaming Service program offers hosted services for delivering on-demand video for Adobe Flash® Player, across high-performance networks.
