Organización Editorial Mexicana Goes Digital with Thermal CTP

Organización Editorial Mexicana is going digital to boost productivity and quality with the purchase of 70 KODAK TRENDSETTER NEWS Platesetters, along with the KODAK PRINERGY EVO Workflow System and KODAK THERMALNEWS GOLD Digital Plates.

“The KODAK Thermal CTP Solution will give us faster prepress times and faster roll up on press, which will expand our editorial window,” said Don Mario Vázquez Raña, Chairman and President of Organización Editorial Mexicana, which is based in Mexico City. The company prints 70 newspapers at 35different locations, and owns television and radio stations, along with Internet sites. “Converting our prepress operation to digital with the KODAK platesetters, workflow and digital plates will increase our productivity, improve the quality of our printed products, and cut waste on press.”

The TRENDSETTER NEWS thermal CTP device comes in five models, ranging in speed from 60 to more than 240 plates per hour to suit newspaper printing facilities of all sizes. The TRENDSETTER NEWS platesetter delivers fast, reliable imaging with a standard file format interface for newspaper production systems. It is available with semiautomatic or fully automated plate loading and unloading. The machine to machine accuracy of the KODAK SQUARESPOT Thermal Imaging Heads, combined with the binary nature of thermal imaging, achieves consistent and repeatable halftone dot structures.
