Business Objects Announces Support for HP Neoview

BI Leader Complements HP Data Warehouse Solution to Help Customers Realize Benefits of Increased Visibility and Insight

Business Objects (Nasdaq:BOBJ) (Euronext Paris ISIN code: FR0004026250 – BOB), the world’s leading provider of business intelligence (BI) solutions, today announced its plans to support the HP Neoview data warehouse platform, offering customers an integrated solution to confidently gather and analyze their data to make better decisions.

The company’s best-in-class BI solutions including BusinessObjects™ XI, which offers the BI industry’s most advanced and complete solution for performance management, planning, reporting, query and analysis, and enterprise information management, will interoperate with HP Neoview to provide customers with enterprise-class data warehousing , meeting highly scalable performance requirements more quickly. As a result, customers will be able to benefit from gaining timely and trusted information to achieve positive business outcomes.

“We are pleased to participate in the launch of HP Neoview,” said Donald MacCormick , vice-president of product marketing at Business Objects. “Today, our customers are faced with dramatic increases in data volumes and the requirement to deliver information to more and more users, which can put enormous pressure on traditional data warehousing approaches. They urgently need trustworthy information, but cannot afford lengthy and complex implementations of the data infrastructure underpinning their BI projects. Business Objects is working with HP to help solve these challenges. Combining the appliance-like approach of HP’s Neoview with Business Objects’ full suite of BI solutions, we will offer a flexible and innovative way for customers to quickly deploy our joint solution, and start to enjoy the benefits quickly.”

The company also announced plans to develop new jointly-integrated solutions for various industry sectors. This follows the existing HP Oneview customer-centric data warehouse solution for the telecommunications industry. The HP Oneview solution leverages HP’s powerful Neoview database platform, and utilizes BusinessObjects XI for analysis, reporting, dashboards, and scorecards. The solution enables network and service providers to analyze customer interaction data (voice, IP, video) for customer retention and life time customer value, and to develop effective campaigns to acquire new customers.

Business Objects, working with its industry-leading partners such as HP, offers customers an unrivaled set of solutions to meet the information management demands of today’s top organizations. Companies need simplified access to data they can trust as the basis of their business intelligence and performance management initiatives. Joint customers can benefit from the ability to ensure their data is accurate, integrated, and timely.

“Our customers depend on business intelligence more than ever to optimize their information assets,” said Ben Barnes, vice president and general manager, Business Intelligence Group, Software, HP. “The combined strength of BusinessObjects XI and HP Neoview will give customers the just-in-time information necessary when making critical business decisions.”

Today’s announcement further expands a long-standing relationship between Business Objects and HP, and also extends the joint commitment to the Business Objects Open Appliance Initiative, a global partner network of BI appliances which includes HP, announced on March 14th.
