TELUS invests $23 million to expand and upgrade wireless digital network in Quebec

Delivering the latest in wireless mobile communications and entertainment

TELUS today announced an investment of $23 million to expand and enhance its wireless digital network in Quebec. By the Fall of 2007, up to 30 additional communities will have access to enhanced features and wireless business solutions. This includes a full suite of TELUS Spark mobile entertainment, information and messaging services such as email, live TV, photo and video messaging, downloadable music, ring tones, games and more.

“TELUS has been proudly delivering state-of-the-art telecommunications services to Quebecers for nearly 80 years,” said Karen Radford, president of TELUS Quebec. “Today’s announcement further demonstrates our ongoing commitment to making the future friendly for consumers and businesses and will enable our customers to experience the full benefits of wireless mobile communications and entertainment.”

Over the coming months, TELUS will extend its wireless digital network
to:

– Causapscal, Lac-au-Saumon, Grosses Roches, Carleton, Hope Town,
Percé, Rivière-aux-Renards, Les Méchins, New Richmond, Ste-Anne-des-
Monts, Nouvelle, Cap-Chat, Bonaventure, Port-Daniel and New Carlisle
in the Gaspé Peninsula
– St-Jean-Port-Joli in the Chaudière-Appalaches region
– Matapédia, Ste-Irène, Val-Brillant and Sayabec in the Matapedia
valley
– Batiscan in Mauricie
– St-Basile in central Quebec
– Colombier, Maliotenam and Baie-Trinité in the Côte-Nord region.

Residents of Havre-Saint-Pierre in the Côte-Nord region; St-Ubalde in Mauricie; and Pont-Rouge in central Québec have been enjoying assured call security, improved sound quality, extended battery life and web-based features available from TELUS’ wireless digital network and handsets, since the beginning of 2007. Last year, TELUS connected more than 25 new communities to its digital network in Quebec.

Existing digital coverage in the greater Montreal and Quebec City areas where TELUS network traffic continues to increase will also be enhanced.
