Cisco and Scientific Atlanta Showcase ‘Connected Life’ Portfolio at The Cable Show
Today’s consumers want the freedom to access a broad range of content and services across many devices – they want to live the “Connected Life.” In the Connected Life, powered by Cisco and Scientific Atlanta, service providers meet the personalized content demands of the consumer. At this year’s Cable Show, Cisco and Scientific Atlanta are demonstrating how they are working with customers on various solutions, including enhanced network platforms and next-generation set-tops, to help service providers connect with and personalize the overall experience – while improving business models and creating new revenue streams.
“Today’s connected consumer is empowered with a wealth of choices for content and content delivery,” said Michael Harney, president of Subscriber Networks, Scientific Atlanta, a Cisco company. “Cisco and Scientific Atlanta’s solutions enable service providers to deliver more content and information seamlessly across multiple devices – complementing today’s connected life, while enriching the overall subscriber experience.”
At the Cisco and Scientific Atlanta booth, 2044, demonstrations include solutions that extend and scale the network, from switched digital video and universal session resource management to advanced video compression (AVC) encoding and data over cable service interface specification (DOCSIS®) 3.0 channel bonding. The companies will also showcase solutions that shape the Connected Life and provide service flexibility including their next-generation OpenCable Applications Platform (OCAPTM)-ready set-tops, separable security set-tops to meet the July 2007 FCC deadline, exciting new OCAP applications, cross-platform video and navigation solutions along with voice, high-speed data and wireless gateway products.
In the content delivery arena, Cisco and Scientific Atlanta will highlight personalized and on-demand services, video to the set-top, personal computer (PC) and mobile devices, addressable advertising and Internet video services. Internet streaming will be introduced on the Cisco Content Delivery System, enabling Video 2.0 experiences across a wide range of devices.
