HP Chief Marketing Officer Cathy Lyons to Return to Senior Role in Imaging and Printing Group

HP today announced that Cathy Lyons, who has served since June 2005 as executive vice president and chief marketing officer of HP, is returning to the company’s Imaging and Printing Group to take on responsibility for strategic change management. Lyons, who played an instrumental role in enhancing the efficiency of the corporate marketing function, will report to Vyomesh Joshi, executive vice president of HP’s Imaging and Printing Group, and perform a key role in driving further innovation and market leadership within that organization.

Following the move, which is effective immediately, the company’s corporate marketing activities will report to Shane Robison, HP executive vice president and chief strategy and technology officer. Lyons’ successor as chief marketing officer will be announced in due course.

“We are working hard to ensure that our imaging and printing business is positioned for continued growth, and Cathy’s move is part of that effort,” said Mark Hurd, HP chairman and chief executive officer. “By moving our corporate marketing assets closer to our technology and strategy activities, we can ensure they remain fully aligned and best able to support our business.”

Lyons, 50, is a 28-year HP veteran who was named chief marketing officer after serving as senior vice president of business imaging and printing. Previously, she was vice president and general manager of the supplies business, running worldwide operations for ink and LaserJet printing supplies.
