Independent Research Firm Names Oracle(r) iProcurement and Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise eProcurement as Two of Seven Leaders in eProcurement Solutions

Forrester Research, a leading independent research firm, has recognized Oracle(r) iProcurement and Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise eProcurement as leaders in the latest Forrester Wave Evaluation: eProcurement Solutions, Q2 2007. In this recent research, Oracle and PeopleSoft were cited for delivering eProcurement leadership in the overall Procurement and Services Procurement evaluations.

To assess the state of the eProcurement market, Forrester evaluated 14 leading eProcurement solutions vendors across 118 criteria to determine leadership for overall goods and services buying and supplier support. A combination of vendor surveys, product demos and client references were also used.

According to the Oracle vendor summary cited in the report, “Combined with Oracle’s substantial resources as a company, the strong current offering makes iProcurement a good bet for any company looking for a strong eProcurement solution.”1 Referring to Oracle’s PeopleSoft Enterprise eProcurement, the vendor summary stated, “PeopleSoft’s solution scored well in almost all of the current offering areas, so it is well suited to a variety of customer needs. Therefore, companies that want both goods procurement and services procurement on a global basis, for instance, will be satisfied with PeopleSoft.”2

Oracle iProcurement and PeopleSoft Enterprise eProcurement are self-service requisitioning applications that enable companies to help control employee spending. Oracle iProcurement provides a Web-based shopping system that allows employees to create, manage and track their own orders while the Purchasing department retains central control. PeopleSoft Enterprise eProcurement allows employees to manage their own requisitions, from searching for items and submitting requisitions to tracking statuses and changing requisitions, all while identifying exceptions, enforcing policies and controlling employee buying.
