Sony Ericsson Further Strengthens Leadership in North America with Appointment of Najmi Jarwala as President of Region

Sony Ericsson today announced that Najmi Jarwala will join the company as president of Sony Ericsson Mobile Communications, Inc. for the North America region effective October 17th. Prior to joining the Sony Ericsson joint venture, Jarwala held several leadership positions with AT&T Wireless Services, most recently as senior vice president, Customer Equipment, Supply Chain.

“The North America region is critical to Sony Ericsson’s long-term future global success, and we will continue to invest in this important region. Leveraging the heritage of our parent companies, Sony Ericsson led the way with high quality photos from a mobile phone and now the Walkman® music phones are also proving to be very popular,” said Miles Flint, president of Sony Ericsson. “Najmi joins us at a good time. He possesses tremendous operating skills with an intimate working knowledge of a wide range of wireless technology and solutions. His industry experience will be a valuable asset to us in driving the next phase of our growth, and we believe Najmi is an exceptional choice to lead our team in North America.”
