MEGA International Named a Leader in Enterprise Architecture Tools By Independent Research Firm

MEGA International has been named by Forrester Research as a leader in its just-published April 2007 report, “The Forrester Wave™: Enterprise Architecture Tools, Q2 2007.”

For this evaluation, Forrester looked at 35 vendors and surveyed 196 enterprise architects. Forrester named MEGA International as one of the five leading Enterprise Architecture (EA) tool vendors. MEGA International received the top scores for simulation and analysis, and publishing. According to the report, “MEGA best suits firms mixing top-down and change management approaches.”

“MEGA International is a leading enterprise architecture modeling solutions vendor. The company combines methodologies, modeling software, and consulting to deliver a complete enterprise architecture modeling solution,” the report stated. “MEGA International offers comprehensive metamodel functionality, a strong repository, and good life-cycle management, which makes it the perfect tool for broad EA initiatives involving different EA stakeholders – including remote ones.”

The report also addresses the growth of deployment of EA tools. “Forrester assesses the EA tools market at about $320 million for 2006, which represents a double digit growth rate of between 12% and 20% for the past three years… Forrester estimates that 90% of Fortune 500 firms have EA practices, and the number of Global 2000 firms that are creating formal EA initiatives continues to increase… Sixty-four percent of corporations with more than 5,000 employees use EA tools – a high adoption rate.”

Forrester attributes this growth to several trends: companies becoming more global while seeking local efficiency and agility, executive pressure for more rapid decision making, and competing strategic initiatives requiring a common source of information.
