Nuance Voice Control Now Available for Rogers Wireless BlackBerry Subscribers
Customers Can Click the “DoMore” Icon to Download the Service that Offers Fast, Easy and Fun Access to Voice-Activated Web Search, Texting, Email and Voice Dialing
Nuance Communications, Inc. (NASDAQ: NUAN), a leading provider of speech solutions, today announced the availability of Nuance® Voice Control, a voice-activated mobile search and messaging service, for millions of Rogers Wireless subscribers across Canada using select BlackBerry® devices and other smartphones or handsets.
The Nuance service has quickly achieved a loyal following of frequent users and has captivated consumers and press at recent industry events as people see how fast, easy and fun it can be to send a text message, dial a contact or search the Web for business listings, news, weather, stock quotes and sport scores entirely by voice.
Nuance Voice Control is available to Rogers’ customers for a monthly subscription fee of $6 (CAN). To quickly download the Nuance application, Rogers’ subscribers can simply click on the “DoMore” Icon of their supported device, including the BlackBerry 7130e, 8703e, 8100 and 8800.
With the press of a single button on a mobile phone, the Nuance Voice Control service lets people simply say a command instead of fumbling with tiny keypads or navigating complex menus to perform simple tasks. To operate the service, subscribers use simple, intuitive voice commands such as:
